Partial Sets
Partial sets are half-sets that will last for 1-2 weeks. Clients should follow aftercare instructions for best results.
These sets are great for clients who only want lashes for a short period of time, such as a wedding or weekend getaway. It is also a great option for clients who are new to lash extensions and want to try them out before committing to a full set.
These sets do not qualify for fills or touch-ups. If you currently have a partial set, you have the option to book for another partial set, a full set, or a removal.

Lash extensions FAQs
What are lash extensions?
The lash extensions I use are made from high-quality synthetic fibers and have lengths and diameters that vary depending on the desired look. The lash extensions are applied using a specially formulated, semi-permanent adhesive. I only use lengths varying from 6mm to 13mm to avoid damaging the natural lash. A healthy length for your lash extensions would be no more than 3mm longer than your natural lash; anything longer can be too heavy, which can break off the natural lash or damage the follicle, cause ingrown hairs (which may lead to infection), or cause your natural lashes to grow in crazy directions over time.
What is the difference between classic, volume, & wet look lash extensions?
For Classic sets, individual lash extensions are applied to individual natural lashes to give a very natural look, making your lashes appear longer and darker. This does NOT add volume to your lashes, but gives the appearance of length and a coat of mascara. This is a good option for clients with a lot of natural lashes.
For Volume sets, fans with 2-5 lash extensions (aka 2D-5D fans) will be applied to individual natural lashes to give a fuller look. A volume fan is multiple lashes that are fanned out and adhered at the base to one individual natural lash. The lash lengths and weights I use for each client will vary depending on the current state, length, and health of their natural lashes.
And for Wet Look sets, 2-4 volume lash extensions will be applied to individual natural lashes without fanning them out. This creates look more dark and dense than Classics. The lash lengths and weights I use for each client will vary depending on the current state, length, and health of their natural lashes. This is a good option for all lash types.
What is the difference between a full set and a partial set?
For full sets, lash extensions will applied to about 90% of your natural lashes. The results will last much longer than a partial set and fills must be booked within 21 days to maintain the look.
For partial sets, lash extensions will be applied to about 40-50% of your natural lashes, with more lashes being applied to the outer half of the eye than the inside of the eye so they look more natural as they begin to shed. The lash extensions will last for about 1-2 weeks and need the same aftercare as full sets. These sets do not qualify for fills or touch-ups. If you currently have a partial set, you have the option to book for another partial set, a full set, or a removal.
Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?
As long as lash extensions are applied properly and a healthy weight and lengths are used, they will not damage your natural lashes. It is also very important that you follow the aftercare instructions to avoid damaging your natural lashes, including not applying makeup or oil-based products directly on the lashes, washing them twice a day with a lash cleanser, and not picking or pulling at your lashes.
Are lash extensions permanent?
Lash extensions are not permanent. The extensions will gradually fall off and shed along with your natural lashes. It is normal to lose 3-5 lashes/lash extensions per eye, per day. For this reason, regularly scheduled fills are needed to maintain the look.
How long does a lash extensions service take?
A new set takes 2 to 2.5 hours. Fills vary from 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Partial sets take 1-1.5 hours. If you are unable to lay still for this period of time, this service is not recommended.
Who should avoid lash extensions?
Anyone who has the following conditions or contraindications should avoid lash extensions:
-
Clients with damaged lashes from previous lash services, lash curlers, lash strips, etc
-
Clients who are unable to lay still for a long period of time
-
Allergic reaction to previous lash extensions
-
Lashes shorter than 4mm
-
Extremely sparse lashes
-
Skin condition around eye area (eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis)
-
Any eye surgery (must wait approximately 6 months)
-
Conjunctivitis
-
A recent eye infection

Important: If you have any medical conditions that make you unsure if you qualify for lash extensions, please consult with your physician before booking an appointment. Lash extensions are not recommended for clients with extremely short or sparse lashes. If your lashes are very short or sparse, it may be recommended to get on a lengthening regimen before booking for this service.
Do you do fill-ins, touch-ups, or partial sets on top of other lash artists' Work?
No. All lash artists have their own style and their own choice of products. Since I do not know what products other artists may have used and prefer my own customized lash designs, I will not do fill-ins for other artists' work. If you currently have lash extensions, please book for a Lash Extension Removal service.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Do's:
-
Avoid any waterproof makeup and oil-based products on your lashes for at least 72 hours before your appointment: This includes eyeliner and mascara. Waterproof makeup contains oils that bond to the hair shaft and take days to come off, even if you can't see it. Any residual oils from these cosmetics will negatively affect your retention.
-
Thoroughly remove any residual lash strip adhesive before your appointment. When you arrive with sticky lashes, it makes the lash extension application very difficult and there is a risk of gluing multiple natural lashes together, which is not healthy for your lashes. If lash strip glue needs to be removed at your appointment, additional fees will be applied and the time will be taken away from the application of your full set.
-
Wash your face and lashes thoroughly before your appointment: The cleaner your face and lashes are, the more time I can spend successfully applying lash extensions. If I need to spend time removing makeup or skincare products from your eyes and lashes, it will take time away from the application process and additional fees will be applied. If there is any residual makeup or skincare products on your lashes that cannot be washed off, it will negatively affect your retention.
-
Use the restroom before the service begins: You will be laying down for a long period of time during your appointment. To maximize the appointment time and avoid any discomfort, please use the restroom before your appointment.
Don'ts:
-
Drink coffee or other caffeinated beverages within 3 hours before your appointment: Caffeine can make you jittery, which can make your eyes twitch or move a lot while they're closed, and it can make the application process very difficult.
-
Arrive wearing contacts: Wearing contacts during lashing can cause discomfort, as they can absorb the fumes from the products and they can feel very dry after your eyes have been closed for a long period of time. I do not supply contact lens cases or contact lens solution.
How should I care for my lash Extensions?
Here are the aftercare instructions that you must follow after your appointment to maximize the results:
-
For the first full 4 hours, avoid getting your lashes wet. It is OK to get your lashes wet after 4 hours. While it is OK to get your lash extensions wet, chlorine, salt water, and steam will weaken the bond of the adhesive and make your lashes come off sooner.
-
Try to avoid sleeping on your face. A satin pillowcase is highly recommended to avoid pulling on your lashes while you sleep.
-
Cleanse your lash extensions twice daily (morning and night) with a cleanser specifically formulated for lash extensions. Cleansing removes oil, makeup, and dirt buildup, which can weaken the bond of the adhesive and also helps to prevent irritation. Using cleansers that are not specifically formulated for lash extensions will negatively affect your retention.
-
Do not cleanse your lashes while in the shower. The hot water and the force of the water can remove your lashes. It is also best to avoid long and very hot showers because the hot water and steam weakens the bond of the adhesive.
-
It is best to avoid oil-based eye products and waterproof makeup because they weaken the bond of the adhesive or cause the lashes to stick together.
-
Do not pick, pull, or rub your lashes. Picking and pulling can do damage to your hair follicles or break off the natural lash. Rubbing or touching your extensions can transfer your body's natural oils or any lotions you've applied to your body, which can weaken the bond of the adhesive.
-
Avoid using mascara or eyeliner directly on the extensions because it will weaken the bond of the adhesive. If makeup build-up is on your extensions at the time of your fill, it may be recommended to do a full removal or you may no longer be considered a good candidate for the service.
-
If you experience any signs of irritation, contact Beauty by Shaniece immediately. You could be experiencing an allergic reaction to the extensions and may need them removed.
-
It is normal to lose 3-5 lash extensions per day. Some clients will lose lashes more quickly than others. It is recommended to touch up your eyelash extensions within 3 weeks to replace any outgrown and shed lashes. If less than 50% of your lash extensions are intact before your fill appointment or you are rebooking after 21 days, you will need to book for a new set.
* You've decided to invest your time and money into getting your new lashes, so take care of them! :)
What will happen if I choose to skip the recommended aftercare?
If you choose not to follow the recommended aftercare instructions (primarily applying makeup to the extensions and not cleaning them twice a day), you may experience lashes that shed quickly or that get stuck together and end up pulling out your natural lashes. Not following the aftercare can also make providing fills very difficult. Keep in mind that you may no longer be considered a good candidate for extensions if you do not follow the aftercare instructions.
