Skin & Skincare Facts
Your skin is your body's largest organ
Your skin is your body’s largest organ. It’s like your body’s armor — it protects you from germs, helps regulate temperature, and even shows signs of what's going on inside your body. Just like you’d take care of your heart or lungs, your skin needs care too because it’s constantly working for you, day and night.
There are no quick fixes when it comes to skincare
Healthy, glowing skin is a result of consistency, patience, and time. Just like going to the gym once won’t give you a six-pack, one facial or product can’t undo years of damage overnight. But with the right routine and professional guidance, your skin will improve and stay healthier in the long run.
consistent at-home care is necessary to achieve results
Skincare is a team effort. What I do in the treatment room is just one part of the equation. To see real, lasting results, your at-home routine and lifestyle habits (like hydration, sleep, diet, and stress management) play a huge role.
your lifestyle affects your skin and treatment results
Your skin is a reflection of what’s going on inside your body. Things like stress, sleep, diet, hydration, medication, smoking, alcohol, and even how much sun you get all impact your skin’s health. While professional treatments and products help a lot, lifestyle habits can either support your results or slow them down. Great skin isn’t just about what you put on it, but how you take care of your body as a whole.
Professional quality skincare products matter
Professional skincare products are formulated with higher-quality ingredients, in concentrations that actually make a difference in your skin. They're backed by clinical research and designed to penetrate deeper, so you get real, long-term results. While drugstore or big box retail products are fine, they are often made to appeal to the general public, so they're gentler, but they are also less targeted and effective — especially for specific concerns like aging or pigmentation.
SPF is essential
Using SPF daily is one of the most important steps in protecting your skin, even if you’re mostly indoors. UV rays, especially UVA, can affect your skin all day long — even on cloudy days, and even when you’re inside. These rays are responsible for premature aging, pigmentation, and skin damage.
Fun facts:
-
SPF is not toxic. Modern sunscreens (especially professional-grade ones) are rigorously tested for safety.
-
UVA = Aging rays. They’re present year-round and pass through glass — meaning your skin is exposed while driving, sitting near a window, or working by natural light.
-
SPF protects your skincare investment. Treatments and products work best when your skin isn’t constantly fighting sun damage.
faqs
Why do I have to book for a new client facial?
I require all new clients to start with a New Client Facial because it includes a full consultation and skin analysis. This allows me to really get to know your skin, your goals, and any concerns you have before we jump into specific treatments. Everyone's skin is different, so this first session helps me create a customized plan that’s safe, effective, and tailored just for you.
Can I book add-ons with my first facial?
For New Client Facials, I don’t recommend booking add-ons. This appointment is focused on a full consultation and skin analysis, so I can understand your skin’s needs before recommending any advanced treatments. Once I’ve seen how your skin responds, we can safely and effectively add enhancements in future sessions.
What skincare concerns do you specialize in?
My specialty is in treating aging skin and pigmentation concerns like dark spots and uneven tone. While I don’t specifically specialize in other conditions such as acne or rosacea, I do offer calming treatments that help reduce inflammation and support overall skin health. If I ever feel you’d benefit from working with a specialist, I’ll always be honest and help guide you in the right direction — that way, your skin gets exactly what it needs.
Do your facials include body massage?
I focus on results-driven treatments so you can see real improvements in your skin without the extra fluff. These treatments are designed to be efficient, effective, and affordable so you get professional care that fits into your schedule and budget. While my facials can include a facial massage to support blood circulation and product absorption, I do not offer massages beyond the face.
Will I see results after one facial?
While you may see a healthy glow after your first treatment, real, lasting results — like improving pigmentation, fine lines, or texture — take consistency and time. Think of each treatment as a building block toward healthier skin. With regular visits and the right home care, you will see progress, but it won’t happen overnight. Skincare is a journey, not a one-time fix.
When should i start treatments for aging?
There’s no "right" age to start caring for your skin — any age is a good age. The earlier you start, the more you can prevent visible signs of aging before they deepen, but it’s never too late to improve your skin’s health and appearance. Whether you’re in your 20s or 60s, professional skincare treatments can support your skin's natural functions and help you age gracefully and confidently.
How many treatments will i need to clear my hyperpigmentation?
Pigmentation concerns — like sun spots, melasma, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — can be complex and take time to treat. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to how many treatments you will need, because results depend on things like your skin type, the type and depth of pigmentation, how long it’s been there, medications or health issues, and your lifestyle and home care routine. I can promise to guide you every step of the way with a customized plan, but treating pigmentation is a marathon, not a sprint.
Is at-home care really that important?
Your home care is 80% of the work. My job is to support, guide, and treat your skin professionally — but the products you use at home, your consistency with using them, and your lifestyle are what really make the difference. It’s like seeing a personal trainer — you’ll make progress in the gym, but your daily habits outside the gym are what really influence your results.

Anyone who has the following contraindications should avoid express facials:
-
Active cold sores or herpes outbreak on the lips or anywhere on the face

Sunburn or healing sunburn
-
Recent facial surgery - wait at least 8 weeks

-
Discontinue use of retinol, AHAs (glycolic, lactic, citric, tartaric acids), BHAs (salicylic acid), or any other exfoliating or anti-aging cosmetics for at least 72 hours before your service.

How should I care for my skin after an express facial?
Here are the aftercare instructions that you must follow after your appointment to maximize the results:
-
There is no downtime, however, it is recommended to avoid long periods in the sun directly after your facial.
-
Use SPF daily, even when you are inside.
What will happen if I choose to skip the recommended aftercare?
If you choose to skip the aftercare, you are at a higher risk of experiencing sensitivity or developing pigmentation issues.
How long will the results last?
The results of a facial will vary by client. You will experience longer-lasting results by following your recommended at-home skincare routine. It is recommended to get an express facial every 4-6 weeks for the best results, especially if you are trying to address specific concerns.
Gua Sha Facial Massage
What is a gua sha facial massage?
This is a holistic lymphatic drainage facial massage technique that reduces puffiness, increases blood circulation, relieves muscle tension, and boosts product absorption. This massage can also help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help to contour the face with regular treatments.
Who should avoid gua sha facial massage? (cONTRAINDICATIONS)
Anyone who has the following contraindications should avoid this treatment:
-
Contraindications to Express Facials
-
Active acne, rosacea, or other skin conditions
-
Very thin skin that bruises easily
-
Blood clotting disorders or using blood thinners
-
Several moles or skin cancer on the face
-
Active infection
-
Medical conditions that affect skin or veins
-
Recent botox/fillers - must wait at least 3 months
Can I combine this treatment with other add-ons?
-
Grow out your brows as much as possible. Best results are achieved on brows that have not been trimmed, tweezed, shaved, or waxed within 4 or more weeks of the appointment.
-
Discontinue use of AHAs (glycolic, lactic, citric, tartaric acids) or any other exfoliating or anti-aging cosmetics near the brows at least 72 hours before your service: This is required to avoid irritation or lifting the skin, which may cause scarring.
-
Discontinue use of brow growth serums for a full 24 hours before your service. This is recommended to avoid any potential adverse reaction to the products used during the service.
-
Wait a minimum of 6 weeks between brow lamination services. You should also wait a minimum of 16 weeks after bleaching your brows and a minimum of 2 weeks after tinting your brows. Otherwise, you can cause over-processing and cause your brow hairs to dry out and break off.
How should I care for my laminated brows?
Here are the aftercare instructions that you must follow after your appointment to maximize the results:
-
For the first 24 hours, avoid getting your brows wet and using growth serums.
-
For the first 48 hours, avoid steam, heat, hot water, sunbathing, swimming, saunas, waterproof makeup, and oil-based cosmetics.
-
A brow conditioner specifically made for brow lamination should be used during the day and at night to help to maintain the health and integrity of your brows. This will be available for purchase at your appointment and can be used any time after the service.
Without this step, you will experience a much shorter life of the lamination and your brow hairs will likely become unruly and very dry/brittle within 1-2 weeks after the service. If you choose not to use the brow conditioner, please wait a minimum of 12 weeks between brow lamination treatments.
-
If you choose not to use the recommended brow conditioner, please use jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, or avocado oil to condition your brows twice daily. Castor oil is not recommended. This is not the recommended aftercare, but it is better than not using anything at all.
-
Use a brow styling wax or gel daily to help hold and train the brows to stay in place.
-
Lightly brush through your brows with a clean mascara spoolie when they are unruly.
-
Do not scrub or use exfoliating cosmetics or makeup remover wipes on treated brows, as this can cause the brow hairs to break off and will cause the tint to fade very quickly. You should also avoid applying other skincare products to laminated brows.
-
It is recommended to get your brows laminated again within 6-8 weeks to maintain the look.
What will happen if I choose to skip the recommended aftercare?
I HIGHLY recommend following the aftercare instructions so you can maintain the health and integrity of your brow hairs. Clients who choose to skip this step may experience very dry, brittle, and unruly brow hairs within 1-2 weeks after the service and may experience breakage by 3-4 weeks.
Is brow lamination permanent?
There is a common misconception that brow lamination is the same or similar to microblading. This service is completely different than microblading and permanent makeup. This service provides temporary results where your brow hairs are relaxed and/or tinted, and results will last for about 4-6 weeks or more with proper care.
Will Brow lamination give me more brow hair?
Brow lamination does not create more brow hair. It can create the appearance of more brow hair by allowing the hair to lay flat, to be more flexible, and to be brushed in the same direction. It's important to keep realistic expectations with this service and to keep in mind that I am only able to work with the current hair that you have.
I have an inspiration photo for my brows. Can you make my brows look like that?
The simple answer is no. Everyone has different factors that will affect their results, such as the current amount of brow hair, natural brow shape, hair type, skin type, bone structure, past treatments done, etc. I can only work with your natural features and am unable to make your brows look like someone else's.
Extractions
What is brow lamination?
Brow lamination is a treatment that involves topical gel and cream products, which essentially relax your brow hairs to make them more flexible. This creates the look of fuller, fluffier brows by realigning the direction of the hair. The laminated effect lasts for about 4-6 weeks or more with proper aftercare.
Unlike most other service providers, my brow lamination services include a complimentary plant-based keratin & biotin conditioning treatment which helps to condition and strengthen the brows ($25 value).
Keep in mind that brow lamination alone may lighten your brow hairs. If you are opting for this service without tint, expect the possibility that your brow hairs will be lightened slightly.
Who should avoid brow lamination? (cONTRAINDICATIONS)
Anyone who has the following contraindications should brow lamination:
-
PREGNANT, NURSING, OR TRYING TO BECOME PREGNANT
-
Negative or allergic reaction to patch test or previous brow lamination service
-
Skin conditions (such as eczema, psoriasis, active breakouts, etc) on or near the brows.
-
Extremely sparse or thin brows.
-
Using topical prescription retinoids/anti-aging products or acne treatments
-
Any type of facial peel within the past month (laser peel, chemical peel, microdermabrasion, etc)
-
Microblading, powder brows, or any other permanent makeup within the past 3 months.
-
Use of Accutane within the past 6 months.

I am the only service provider at my business and have a small suite with one work area. I can not work on multiple clients at a time.
I have an inspiration photo for my brows. Can you make my brows look like that?
For insurance and liability purposes and to avoid distractions, I do not allow anyone or any pets in the room during a service. If you bring a friend or family member, they will be asked to wait outside. If you bring a child or a pet, your appointment will be canceled and there will be a 50% cancellation fee.
The only exception to this is if you require a helper or service animal due to medical needs.
